Milo Marathon Registration Center Opens at the Civic Center

The Roxas City Leg of the 31st National MILO Marathon on August 26, 2007 kicks off with the opening of the Registration Center at the Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center. The heat is on for this leg of the race with some 2,800 runners signing up on the first day of registration.

Registration will continue daily from 8 am to 5 pm until Wednesday, August 22. To join the marathon, interested participants will only have to fill up a registration form and submit this along with one (1) MILO label (minimum of 3oo grams).

Club Service Projects Workshop Slated August 11

In the hope of streamlining the projects for the Rotary year 2007-2008, the Service Projects Committee Chair Dr. Jo Mosquete, is organizing the 1st Club Service Projects Workshop on August 11, 2007 at the Rotary Center. This will give all members the opportunity to contribute their ideas and aspirations for Rotary and the community, in general, through relevant projects and activities that maybe proposed.
Ongoing projects of Rotary Club of Roxas includes the annual Milo Marathon, Day Care Center in Barangay Dumulog, Baybay,the Mangrove Greenbelt Project in Barangay Punta Cogon, Boys and Girls Week Celebration, Voice of the Youth extemporaneous speaking contest and many others.

RC Roxas Holds Milo Marathon

The Rotary Club of Roxas will be conducting for the second time the Milo Marathon here in Capiz. This is an annual national event sponsored by Nestle Philippines in the hope of promoting athletics to the youth and at the same time scout for future athletes to represent the country.
The activity is slated on August 26, 2007. Four thousand participants are expected the join the activity this year.
A cheering competition will also be conducted and special awards for the largest school delegation will be given. Last year, the Filamer Christian College won the Biggest Delegation Award.
